STUDIO & KILNS

All work is wood-fired using two distinctly different types of wood-firing kilns.
Kiln one is a double fire box phoenix type kiln, this 120cuft kiln is fired using pine wood in around 24hrs.
Kiln two is an Anagama kiln which is fired with a mix of hard and soft wood for 3 - 4 days, to a temperature of around 1300 - 1350c.
Some pot are glazed with wood or straw ash glazes, others are thickly slipped or left unglazed - allowing the fly-ash that lands on the work during the long firing to naturally glaze the pots.
